Nashville teacher Gerron Hurt takes home MasterChef trophy
NASHVILLE: MasterChef, a culinary competition currently hosted by the Fox network, brings together amateur chefs in a fierce cooking challenge hosted by the best chefs in the world: Gordon Ramsay, Aaron Sanchez and Joe Bastianich. Together, they create challenges that test the limits of competitors abilities to create the ultimate restaurant dish.
The winner of MasterChef USA Season 9 is 25-year-old Nashville English teacher Gerron Hurt, who recently brought his delicious recipes to Clarksville’s Bacon and Bourbon Festival in August.
Hurt, who earned a spot in the competition by garnering single a coveted “apron” from Joe Bastianich, thanked his mentor for having faith in him. Hurt said he prayed for success during each week’s challenges and asked his mother, who passed away, for the strength to make it through the competition. Hurt is originally from Lousiville, Kentucky.
