A taste of Fall arrives with tonight’s Frost Advisory

TENNESSEE: The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a Frost Advisory, which is in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m CDT Wednesday.

The first chilly air of fall has moved into Middle Tennessee, and along with that comes the potential for scattered frost. Late tonight into Wednesday morning, a few patches of frost are possible, mainly in low lying areas.

Patchy frost will be possible late Wednesday night into Thursday morning as well. Looking ahead, another cold front will bring the potential for more widespread frost and some freezing temperatures early next week.

Take action now to protect the most sensitive plants for tonight and Wednesday night. Frost and some freezing temperatures will be possible Saturday night and Sunday night across Middle Tennessee.

  • TEMPERATURE…Lows will be in the mid to upper 30s across Middle Tennessee.
  • IMPACTS…Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed or damaged by frost if not protected.

Those interested in frost or freezing conditions should monitor updated forecasts, especially for the colder air expected this weekend.

A Frost Advisory means that widespread frost is expected. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.
