Fort Defiance to teach dances of the Civil War era


We’ve all seen movies that take us back in time to intricate dances from waltzes to the Virginia Reel.  If you’ve ever wanted to learn the dances of the Civil War, now is your

Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center in Clarksville will hold a tutorial on Civil War dancing on Saturday, November 18 at 1 p.m.
Learn common Civil War period dances, such as the Virgina Reel and the Patty Cake Polka! Local teacher and historian, Phyllis Smith, will lead the workshop. Tea and cookies will also be served.
