Potential hurricane forming in the Gulf; remnants could affect Tennessee Sunday

TENNESSEE: The National Weather Service has issued a hazard weather outlook in anticipation of a tropical system expected to have some impact on most parts of Tennessee by the weekend.

Tropical Storm Nate is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane and make landfall along the northern Gulf Coast on Sunday. Although there is still a level of uncertainty, the current forecast tracks bring the remnants of Nate near or across Middle Tennessee late Sunday into Monday with the threat of locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds.

Because the storm is still 4-5 days out, the weather service advises people to pay attention to the developing forecast as the weekend nears.
