Snow, freeze warning in effect today, tonight

Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for portions of northern Middle Tennessee until noon today. A Winter Weather Advisory is also issued for portions of the Cumberland Plateau and southern Middle Tennessee tonight.

This morning, a swath of moisture has advected into sub-freezing air across northern Middle Tennessee and is producing measurable snowfall that will last until noon.

One to two inches of snow may fall by noon today.

An upper trough coming through Middle Tennessee Saturday night will combine with sub- freezing temperatures to produce snowfall across the region, with most of the accumulating snow occurring
after midnight. While most locations will receive only light accumulations, a few spots across the Cumberland Plateau and southern Middle Tennessee will likely see up to an inch of snow.

In addition, a freeze warning is in effect across Middle Tennessee this morning and again Saturday night.

As Canadian high pressure pushes Arctic air into Middle Tennessee, most locations will experience temperatures falling to or below freezing. Low temperatures Saturday morning are expected to fall into the upper 20`s and lower 30`s, and into the mid and upper 20`s Saturday night.
